Bring Back the Chill Out Room (BBTCOR)

Bring Back the Chill Out Room (BBTCOR) is a project to revive a modern version of the 90s Chill Out Room by creating spaces where downtempo music, visuals and installations come together. The Chill Out Room offers an alternative to the high-paced dance floor, making room for a different musical experience. The project is a spin-off of Saar and Claar's radio show, The Chill Out Room. We previously collaborated with The Spirit of Amsterdam, a cultural festival celebrating 750 years of Amsterdam in over 40 holy places across the city. On Sunday, November 24th, De Diaconie, a hidden greenhouse near De Hermitage, was transformed into a chill out oasis. We are currently working with Club Raum, Van Gogh Musuem and W139 to transform their spaces as an homage to the meditative beauty of downtempo music, blending psychedelic, bassy, and groovy elements with an inviting space for listening, dancing, or simply being. This project has been funded by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst.
